Component of the heterogeneousnuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) complexes and associated withmost nascent transcripts (PubMed:2687284). Associates, togetherwith APEX1, to the negative calcium responsive element (nCaRE) B2of the APEX2 promoter (PubMed:11809897).{ECO:0000269|PubMed:11809897, ECO:0000269|PubMed:22570490,ECO:0000269|PubMed:25623890, ECO:0000269|PubMed:26051023,ECO:0000269|PubMed:2687284}. Potential tumor suppressor. Seems to be involved inlymphocyte adhesion by linking RAP1A activation upon T-cellreceptor or chemokine stimulation to integrin activation. Isoform2 stimulates lymphocyte polarization and the patch-likedistribution of ITGAL/LFA-1, resulting in an enhanced adhesion toICAM1. Together with RAP1A may participate in regulation ofmicrotubule growth. The association of isoform 2 with activatedRAP1A is required for directional movement of endothelial cellsduring wound healing. May be involved in regulation of Rasapoptotic function.
