Protects the hemoglobin in erythrocytes from oxidativebreakdown. Mediates the transport of adenosine 3'-phospho 5'-phosphosulfate (PAPS), from cytosol into Golgi. PAPS is auniversal sulfuryl donor for sulfation events that take place inthe Golgi.
