Seversmicrotubules along their length and depolymerizes their ends,primarily the minus-end, that may lead to the suppression ofmicrotubule growth from and attachment to centrosomes. Microtubulesevering may promote rapid reorganization of cellular microtubulearrays and the release of microtubules from the centrosomefollowing nucleation. Microtubule release from the mitotic spindlepoles may allow depolymerization of the microtubule end proximalto the spindle pole, leading to poleward microtubule flux andpoleward motion of chromosome. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:22672901}. Oxidant stress-activated serine/threonine kinase thatmay play a role in the response to environmental stress.
