Substrate recognition component of a SCF (SKP1-CUL1-F-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex which mediatesthe ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation oftarget proteins. Probably recognizes and binds to phosphorylatedtarget proteins. Recognizes YBX1 (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}. Visual signal transduction is mediated by a G-proteincoupled cascade using cGMP as second messenger. This protein canbe activated by cGMP which leads to an opening of the cationchannel and thereby causing a depolarization of rodphotoreceptors. Induced a flickering channel gating, weakened theoutward rectification in the presence of extracellular calcium, increased sensitivity for L-cis diltiazem and enhanced the cAMPefficiency of the channel when coexpressed with CNGA3 (Bysimilarity). Essential for the generation of light-evokedelectrical responses in the red-, green- and blue sensitive cones.{ECO:0000250, ECO:0000269|PubMed:10888875}.
