Acts as subunit of the RNA polymerase II elongatorcomplex, which is a histone acetyltransferase component of the RNApolymerase II (Pol II) holoenzyme and is involved intranscriptional elongation. Elongator may play a role in chromatinremodeling and is involved in acetylation of histones H3 andprobably H4. Involved in cell migration (By similarity). May beinvolved in TP53-mediated transcriptional regulation.{ECO:0000250, ECO:0000269|PubMed:16850183}. Catalyzes the calcium-dependent hydrolysis of the 2-acylgroups in 3-sn-phosphoglycerides (PubMed:2925633). Thought toparticipate in the regulation of phospholipid metabolism inbiomembranes including eicosanoid biosynthesis. Independent of itscatalytic activity, acts as a ligand for integrins(PubMed:18635536, PubMed:25398877). Binds to and activatesintegrins ITGAV:ITGB3, ITGA4:ITGB1 and ITGA5:ITGB1(PubMed:18635536, PubMed:25398877). Binds to a site (site 2) whichis distinct from the classical ligand-binding site (site 1) andinduces integrin conformational changes and enhanced ligandbinding to site 1 (PubMed:25398877). Induces cell proliferation inan integrin-dependent manner (PubMed:18635536).{ECO:0000269|PubMed:18635536, ECO:0000269|PubMed:25398877,ECO:0000269|PubMed:2925633}.
