Required for perception of chronic pain through NMDAreceptor signaling. Regulates surface expression of NMDA receptorsin dorsal horn neurons of the spinal cord. Interacts with thecytoplasmic tail of NMDA receptor subunits as well as inwardrectifying potassium channels. Involved in regulation of synapticstability at cholinergic synapses.
